В предпоследния ден на 2013 D.I.C.E. Summit (5-8 февруари) Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) раздаде своите годишни награди за видеоигри - D.I.C.E. Awards, които вече имат 16 издания (досега под името Interactive Achievement Awards).
Пустинното приключение на Thatgamecompany Journey, чиято премиера в PlayStation Network се състоя през март 2012 г., спечели 8 награди, включително за Най-добра игра, Изключителна иновация и Изключително достижение в режисурата на видеоигри.
Играта бе номинирана в 11 категории и получи огромно признание още преди появата си (спечели няколко награди от E3 2011), a през декември й бяха присъдени три Spike Video Game Awards, включително за Най-добра PS3 продукция. Рейтингът й според MetaCritic е 92/100, а продажбите й са рекордни за цялата история на PSN.
С голям брой статуетки от Академията за интерактивни изкуства и науки (гейм еквивалентът на Американската филмова академия) се сдоби и Най-добрата игра на 2012 г. според Spike VGA - The Walking Dead. Сред четирите й награди са тези за Най-добра игра за сваляне и Най-добър адвенчър.
По време на церемонията в Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas бе връчена и специалната AIAS Pioneer Award на съоснователите на Infocom – Дейв Леблинг и Марк Бланк, а президентът на Valve Гейм Нюъл бе въведен в AIAS Hall of Fame.
Американският stand-up комедиант, актьор и музикант Крис Хардуик, озвучаващ Отис от Back at the Barnyard и водещ на BBC America Britcom и на токшоуто Talking Dead, влезе в ролята на хост на вечерта.
